Market Update for July 3 2012: Gratitude

By chrisking • July 3rd, 2012

This is what might be called my “Gratitude Market Update.” I would like to thank those of you who donated to Beit T’Shuvah. Many of you probably know that I coach the marathon team at my temple, Beit T’Shuvah. BTS, as we call it, is not only a Jewish synagogue, but it is also a drug and alcohol rehab center offering in-patient and out-patient treatment to those in recovery. I’ve been fortunate enough to coach the marathon team for the last three years, and this year we were again one of the official charities for the Los Angeles Marathon.
The team was the largest ever this year. And probably my greatest excitement as a coach was to see that we had 100% of our runners (about 45 total) complete their entire event! Most of the team ran the full marathon. Some ran the half marathon. And some signed up for the half and ran the whole thing! But literally every one of our runners crossed their respective finish lines this year. It was a tremendous milestone in so many of our runners’ recoveries. And we are blessed that we had the support and generosity of people like you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Please note the names of the amazing sponsors who believed in our mission that we are “Running to Save a Soul,” and please consider sponsoring the team in the future!
Bill Gardner, Deano’s Motel; Mehaul O’Leary, Joxer Daly’s Irish Pub and Restaurant; Richard A. Marcus, Send Out Cards; Linda Black, Coldwell Banker; Don Trepany, Trepany Chiropractic; Chuck Perelman; Clint Ehlers, Fastsigns, Culver City; Dannie Cavanaugh, Cavanaugh Realtors; Carmela Raack; Jan Frankel Schau, ADR Services; Naomi Goldman, NGL Communications; Patricia O’Neill, Psychologist; Austin Brunkhorst, Coldwell Banker; Patrick James King, Patrick James King, D.D.S.; Paul Neill, Liquid Design Plumbing; Dawn Yoshioka, Embrace Healing and Wellness; Sandra Ruiz, Fix My FICO; Jeff Eamer, Eamer Marketing and Design.
Perhaps you’ve thought of running a marathon or a half marathon. Our team would love to have you train with us! Although most of the runners are in recovery, it is not a requirement. Our training program begins the 2nd week of September. We start our team at 2 miles and build all the way up to 26. Call if you would like more info!
